Support to improve the competitiveness and Commercial Capacity of SMEs and Cooperatives in Guatemala

The overall objective of this project is to contribute to poverty reduction by promoting inclusive and sustainable economic growth by improving the competitiveness and commercial capacity of Guatemalan MSMEs and Cooperatives.

The Program has been designed to achieve two main goals: (i) strengthening the public institutions and agencies responsible for sanitary and phytosanitary measures through improving the national quality system and create a favorable business environment for MIPYMES and cooperatives. (ll)  improving the competitiveness and commercial capacity of Guatemalan MSMEs and Cooperatives.

1. Strengthening the national quality system and the nation quality institutions responsible for sanitary and phytosanitary measures and compliance with market requirements.
2. Improved capacity of MINECO in supporting the competitiveness of MIPYMES and cooperatives to access formal markets and link to value chains;
3. Improved public-private dialogue at the local level to support the competitiveness of MIPYMES and cooperatives.
4. Improve the competitiveness and commercial capacity of MSMEs, cooperatives and producer groups to access formal markets and link to value chains.
